Details

The Telecaster was introduced by Fender in 1951 and is considered by the company itself to be the first commercially successful mass-produced solid-body electric guitar.

Its design was deliberately simple. The goal was not to add complexity, but to offer musicians a reliable, durable, easy-to-maintain instrument with a sound capable of standing out.

The guitar was born at a time when western swing and other popular music styles had a strong presence in the United States. Musicians like Jimmy Bryant, Jimmy Wyble, Charlie Aldrich, and Bill Carson were among the first to adopt the instrument.

Its sound also quickly found a place in country, honky-tonk, and studio sessions, and over the years, the Telecaster was incorporated into numerous musical genres.

Its design has remained surprisingly recognizable since the 1950s.

For the Blackwing × Fender edition, inspiration comes from the classic Butterscotch Blonde Telecaster, one of the finishes most visually associated with the earliest Telecasters.
